Last weekend my Hard drive crashed and fried. It is no longer recognized by mine or my Dad's computers as a hard drive. I had not backed up my pixel doll files because the last time I had tried to do so (I had 7 different paint *.bmp files with over 400 pixel dolls in them) in 2007/08 some of the files had become corrupted and unreadable and I was terrified of that happening again. The only chance of retrieving my files would be to take my hard drive to a data recovery specialist which I've been quoted would cost $1,000-$2,000 USD. I have nowhere near that kind of money to spend on some files which unfortunately carry only sentimental value.
I had at least 250 more dolls, and even some newer updated versions of ones posted on here that I had not uploaded yet (I had redone Belle's hair yet again, as well as her gown).
This is a really tragic loss for me as I have been working on these since I was 14; I am now 24. I had made a lot of progress and I had so many in my collection.
I have the ones I've uploaded here and I still have the base, but that's it.
Right now I don't want to do anything. I may continue dolling in the future, but to be honest, I don't see it happening. I've truly lost my inspiration. I never felt I was good at drawing, even though I do that, not at all photography; this was my strong suit, what made me happy, and it's all scorched on a dead hard drive.
Feel free to unwatch me. Favorite what dolls you love, but just know that there will be no new ones, at least not for a very, very long time.
